Bump Bandage™ was developed by a nursing student while she was working as a hairdresser in an assisted living facility. She had been studying skin integrity at school and saw firsthand just how fragile aging skin can become, and how susceptible some of her clients were to derma-injury. Even the simple, caring act of assisting someone while bathing, lifting or dressing could result in skin tears or bruises.


In one particular case, a female resident at the facility had been cradling her bruised forearm in fear of further injury. The next day, the hairdresser returned with a protective fabric covering she had sewn together at home, and put it on the resident's arm to protect her injuries. The woman wouldn't take it off or give it back! Almost immediately, and without fear, she began using her injured arm again for the simple tasks of holding a fork and picking up a cup! That was the endorsement that the student/hairdresser couldn't ignore, and the Bump Bandage™ was born!
